Apple Hill is the perfect place to embrace and indulge in the changing seasons with its rolling hills, colorful trees, and plentiful harvest that provides tasty treats of all kinds. Here are some of my favorite stops on the hill.
Jack Russel Brewery
The grounds at Jack Russel Brewery are very open with ample seating where you can take in the fresh air of the foothills while enjoying flavorful beers like their Pumpkin Spice Ale, Apple Ale, or Captain Boomer's IPA.
High Hill Ranch
From take home apple pies, a pumpkin patch, fishing in the pond, dozens of unique vendors, delicious BBQ, dozens of caramel treats, and fresh produce from the harvest, High Hill Ranch really has it all.
Boa Vista Orchards
Boa Vista also has a large variety of goodies and treats from the harvest along with great wines and beers. Across the street they have a pumpkin patch with endless Christmas trees in the background providing the perfect backdrop for an Instagram photoshoot or a family holiday card.
Boeger Winery is one of the most popular wineries at Apple Hill and for good reason. The winery is picture perfect from start to finish and provides guests with quality wines. Boeger was the first in the area post prohibition and has been perfecting its craft ever since.
Wofford Acres Vineyard
Wofford winery overlooks a breathtaking canyon that pairs perfectly with any selection of their wine. The tasting room is a bit smaller providing an intimate experience with their friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Cozmic cafe is a unique place to stop during your trip to Apple Hill, offering delicious organic foods that will make you feel a little more balanced in your day of indulgence. This is located in the town of Placerville just west of Apple Hill off Highway 50. The establishment backs up into a mountain and the grounds are a part of an actual entrance to a once active gold mine. The funky vibes, rich history and fresh food provide an experience that should not be passed up.
